Speaker Bio

Crystal O’Donnell is the founder and CEO of Heuristica Discovery Counsel LLP (“HDC”), a boutique national law firm focused solely on electronic evidence and discovery.
Crystal has a diverse professional history. She has extensive experience as litigation and eDiscovery counsel, having practiced with a Toronto, Canada litigation firm and the Ministry of the Attorney General (Ontario). Crystal has represented clients at all levels of the Ontario courts, and administrative proceedings. Crystal’s current practice focuses on assisting clients with discovery and evidence issues.
Crystal is currently the Chair of a Uniform Law Conference of Canada (ULCC) Working Group tasked with creating procedural rules for eDiscovery, Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors, Canadian Legal Information Institute (CanLII), Board of Directors, Lexum, Council member of the Ontario Bar Association, former Vice-Chair of the Ontario E-Discovery Implementation Committee, and former Steering Committee member and contributing author of the Sedona Canada Principles.
